Foster Jude Fontenot

August 12, 1975 — May 25, 2026

Foster Jude Fontenot, 50, passed away Monday, May 25, 2026. He was born in Lake Charles on August 12, 1975, to Carolyn Ann Foreman and Belvin Lane Fontenot.

Foster was a graduate of St. Louis Catholic High School, and he continued his education and graduated from McNeese State University with a bachelor’s degree in business management. He proudly served his country in the United States Army before dedicating many years of service to his community as a deputy with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office, from which he retired.

Foster enjoyed playing pool competitively, collecting trucks, and spending time with family and friends. He was a devoted member of St. Margaret Catholic Church and a proud member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion Post 1.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Benjamin Neal Nevils; daughters by heart, Chloe Abraham Fontenot and husband Richard, and Layla Burton and husband Trevor; sister, Fara McKinley and husband Keith; grandchildren by heart, Chadler and Theodore; nieces, Gabrielle and Alexandra McKinley; as well as numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Isabella Fontenot.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 29, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Margaret Catholic Church. Visitation will be held Thursday at Johnson Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and will resume Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A rosary will be recited Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Foster will be laid to rest at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
