Frances Bauer, 90, passed away Sunday, October 09, 2016 in Golden Age of Welsh.
Daughter of Charles Wright Morris and Fannie Helen Seay, Frances was born and raised in Charlottesville, VA. She married Carl Robert Bauer of Willoughby, Ohio in 1947. They met while he was a student at the University of Virginia. After he received his doctorate, they moved to Newark, Delaware and Dr. Bauer began working as a chemist for the Dupont company in southern New Jersey.
Mrs. Bauer was a homemaker and very active in Girl Scouts where she served as a trained Brownie leader. She was also a volunteer for several years at the YWCA in Wilmington, Delaware and when opened a new center in Newark, she became their program director. She was also a member of the New Century Club. Later the family moved to Elkton, Maryland where they purchased a home in the country and enjoyed boating on the Chesapeake Bay. After Dr. Bauer died in 1970, Mrs. Bauer moved back to Crozet, VA to be near her parents and stayed there until moving to Welsh in 2001 to be with her daughter, Carolyn, and her husband, David.
She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Anne Bauer LeJeune and husband, David William LeJeune, Sr.; grandchildren, David Jr., and wife, Michelle Rocca, Rebecca Anne Denton and husband, James, Charles Nicholas and wife, Jennifer Yerdon and 6 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Bauer will be buried in her native Virginia next to her husband and parents in Monticello Memory Gardens, Charlottesville, Virginia, just below the home of Thomas Jefferson. There will be a graveside service for the family on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 1 p.m.
