Frances Jeanette Adams Bennett

Frances Jeanette Adams Bennett, 72, of Lake Charles died peacefully in her home on the evening of October 18, 2016 after a lengthly illness, surrounded by her loving family.

 

Frances was born April 8, 1944 in Monroe, Louisiana. She moved to Lake Charles in 1958 and graduated from LaGrange Senior High in 1962. She lived and worked in Lafayette, Louisiana and Charlottesville, Virginia while her husband attended college in those cities. After graduation, they moved to Baton Rouge where they lived for twenty-six years. Before returning to Lake Charles in 2011 she lived in The Woodlands, Texas and McAllen, Texas.

 

Frances participated in many charitable functions in the various cities she lived in. She had also been active in bible studies wherever she lived. She was the author of the book Tandy, the life story of Tandy Hamilton, the founder of Piccadilly Cafeterias, Inc. Her overriding interest was the well being of her family and maintaining a wonderful home environment. She loved to travel, particularly with family and friends. She visited most of the United States and many foreign countries. Frances had many friends and a loving family and she will be dearly missed.

 

She is survived by her husband, James W. Bennett; three children, Micah Keith and wife Diane, James Hugh and wife Erica and Sharon Janette Bennett; sisters, Emily Davies and Peggy Crain; five grandchildren, Avery, Parker, Alexandra, Tyler and Mason.

 

A celebration of Frances’s life will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday October 23, 2016 at the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home with Reverend Bill Ruskoski officiating. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 12:00 PM and continue until the time of service at the funeral home.
