Frances Joyce Corbello Stoker

Frances Joyce Corbello Stoker, 84, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025, with family by her side.

Born on May 7, 1941, to Josie Marcantel and Mathew James Pelican, Frances was a longtime resident of Kinder, Louisiana, where she had lived since 1958. Over the years, she built a life centered on simple pleasures and strong family ties.

Frances worked at Mrs. Fran’s Grooming, a job she genuinely enjoyed. She had a lifelong love for dogs and cared deeply for animals. Outside of work, she liked spending time outdoors—fishing, camping, and tending to her flowers. She also enjoyed painting, bird watching, and was a member of the Red Hat Society.

She is survived by her children: Ronald H. Corbello and wife Donna, Sherman B. Corbello Sr. and wife Brenda, and Bernita Corbello Lebert and husband Mike. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Rebecca Lynn Corbello Young; and her siblings, Wanda Nevils, Ruby Pelican, Alden Pelican, and Chester Pelican.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and will resume on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
