Francoise Livergood, 82, of Lake Charles, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, generosity, and joy. A caring and selfless woman, Francoise was known for her giving heart and her remarkable talent in the kitchen. She loved to cook and bake creating cakes, breads, and countless delicious meals that brought her family and friends together. Even in her final days she still had her family gathered around the table to share a meal. She was the original chef of the family, and even found peace and pleasure in her garden, tending to her flowers and herbs with the same care she gave to those she loved.
Born and raised in France, Francoise met the love of her life, Jimmie Roy Livergood, while he was stationed there with the U.S. Army. From the moment they met, their love story began, and together they shared 53 beautiful years of marriage before his passing.
Francoise was also a talented and creative woman. A professional seamstress for a time, she made and altered prom dresses, homecoming gowns, and elegant Mardi Gras ball gowns. There was nothing she couldn't create with her sewing machine. She was also known for her playful spirit. Francoise was always ready with a good laugh or a harmless practical joke. Her warmth, humor, and creativity made her unforgettable to all who knew her.
She is survived by her son, Chris Livergood, and his partner of 15 years, John LaFleur; her sisters, Micheline Mitchell and Claudine Roy (Christian); her nieces, Christine Baldwin (Paul) and Patricia Goodman (Ronald); as well as numerous grandnieces and grandnephews.
Francoise was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jimmie Roy Livergood; her parents, Marcel and France Bonneau; her daughter, Nathalie Amber Livergood; her nephew, Jean-Michel Roy and Niece Christelle Roy.
