Frank Clark Carmen Jr.

May 17, 1931 — Oct 5, 2026

Frank Clark Carmen Jr., 95, passed away peacefully at his home on October 5, 2026.

Frank was a loyal and hardworking man who took great pride in caring for the people and animals he loved.

At just 17 years old, Frank joined the United States Air Force. He went on to proudly serve his country for 20 years, retiring with the rank of Technical Sergeant. While stationed in London, Frank met Billie, and their story began while sitting in an English pub, Frank happened to sit on Billie's purse and broke it. The two did not know each other for long before deciding they were meant to be together, and it wasn't long before they were married.

Frank was a loving and loyal man who never met a stranger. He loved to joke around with everyone and had a playful spirit that stayed with him throughout his life. Even as he battled Alzheimer's disease, that sense of humor remained.

He was a very sociable man who loved having people around. Frank enjoyed hosting parties and gatherings at his home and took great pleasure in having family and friends together. He loved animals and was always willing to show them the same care and affection he gave to people in his life. He also had a great appreciation for Big Band music, which remained a favorite throughout his life.

Those left to cherish Frank's memory include his wife of 73 years, Doris "Billie" Carmen; his children, Raymond C. Carmen and Linda Hoke (Darrin); his granddaughter, Janis Carmen; his great-grandchild, Alexander Laskey; and his brother, Richard Carmen.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Edna Witchley, Katherine Beckwith, Samuel Carmen, Carl Carman, Howard Carmen, Robert Carmen, and Ronald Carmen.

A funeral service for Frank will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff. Burial will follow at Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Jennings, Louisiana. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
