Fred Donald Doucet

Fred Donald Doucet, born in Branch, Louisiana on January 22, 1937, son of the late Fred and Gladys Marie (Romain) Doucet, passed away with his family by his side Thursday, November 7, 2024, at the age of 87.

A graduate of Iowa High School, Fred attended McNeese State University for 2 years. He honorably served our country in the U. S. Navy for 3 years. He retired from Gulf States/Entergy after 37 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Bonita Marie Moreaux.

Survivors are his loving wife of 68 years, Claudia Doucet; daughters, Diana Carrier and husband, Glenn, and Susan Terrell and husband, James; brother, Bernon Doucet and wife, Betty; grandchildren, Amber Smith and husband, Chris, Baron Carrier and wife, Victoria, Gabrielle Lewis and husband, Tory, Natalia Broussard and husband, David, and Ethan Terrell; great-grandchildren, Grace, Luke, Aidan, Colton, Loghan, Jude, and Emma.

Funeral services will be held in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at 1 p.m. Rev. Nathan Long, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation begins Monday in the chapel of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6:30 p.m., and will resume on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m.
