Freida Roach

Freida Marie Finn Roach, 73, of Vinton, passed away on November 4, 2018 at MD Anderson Hospital in Houston, TX surrounded by her family.  Freida was born on January 12, 1945 in Ged, LA.  She worked at West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital for 15 years in the insurance department.  While there she received the first Frank Gayle award in 1991, was president of the employee council, Santa’s Sleigh program and Christmas in April.  Freida was also a caregiver for several years. 

Freida is survived by her husband of 31 years, John W. Roach; her sons, Tommy Sandifer of Vinton, Mike Sandifer and wife Karen of Sulphur; her daughters, Elaine Terry and husband Mark of Orange, TX and Heidi Jacobson and husband  Kevin of Wisconsin; her sisters, Marilyn Courville and husband Elie of Vinton and Carolyn Sue Shull and husband Darryll of Vinton; her brothers, A.D. Finn and his wife Ellen of Fairfield, CA and Phillip Finn and Ellen Carlile of Moss Bluff; two granddaughters, Aiyana Sandifer and Adline Jacobson; and one grandson, D.L. Fontenot of Houston.  She was preceded in death by her parents, William “Bill” and Ida Finn; sister in law, Margaret Finn; her brother, Billy Finn and his wife Mary.

Visitation for Freida will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2018 from 11-4 PM at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Vinton.  Services for Freida will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at 4 PM at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Vinton with Reverend Gerard Little officiating.  Cremation will follow under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home.
