Gale Lynn Fugatt Falgout, 66, of Lake Charles, Louisiana, went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 7, 2017 in a local hospital following a brief illness. Gale was the oldest of five children and was born on November 17, 1950, in Sulphur, Louisiana, the daughter of Gene Fugatt and Betty Lyons Fugatt.
Gale graduated from Terrebonne High School in Houma, Louisiana in 1968. In 1969 she married the love of her life, Errol Falgout, who she was married to for 47 years. Gale was the student ministry assistant at Trinity Baptist Church where she served for 28 years. Ms. Gale, as the students called her, felt a calling by God to help bring young people to Christ. She was very artistic and spent her leisure time scrapbooking, traveling and spoiling her grandchildren.
She was proceeded in death by her mother Betty Lyons Fugatt; father Gene Fugatt; sister Jean Fugatt; and nephew Nicholas Fugatt. Those left to remember and celebrate her life are her husband, Errol Falgout; her daughter, Stacy (Shawn) Dowden of Lake Charles, Louisiana; her two sons, Steven (Laura) Falgout of McKinney, Texas, and Chad Falgout; her sister Gary Fugatt of Houma, Louisiana; two brothers, Kenneth (Patricia) Fugatt of Lake Charles, Louisiana and Curtis (Stacy) Fugatt; five grandchildren, Elisabeth Falgout, Brennan January, Kadynce Dowden, Aubrey Falgout, and Kamdyn Falgout; two nieces, Alexandra Fugatt and Emily Fugatt; and six cats and a crazy dog.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 10, 2017 at Trinity Baptist Church North Venue. Visitation will be held between 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Johnson’s Funeral Home. Visitation will continue at the church from 9:30 AM until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Trinity Baptist Church Student Ministry Scholarship Fund to help youth attend camps and mission trips.
