Gardner Ray Fontenot

Gardner Ray Fontenot, 78, of Lake Charles passed away at 4:46 AM on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 in a local hospice facility.

Mr. Fontenot was born on June 12, 1947 in Jennings, LA.

A man of courage and strength with a gentle smile and loving heart. He carried himself with peace and graciousness. He not only fought for his country he fought for his loved ones. He is now resting in peace.. as we mourn in our love for him we know that he no longer suffers.. God bless Gardner Ray Fontenot.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Belinda Thomas, Gloria Fontenot, Matthew Fontenot, and Jesse Fontenot; brothers, Norris and Charles Fontenot; grandchildren, Joel Baglio, Dallas Thomas, Daylon and Deante White, and Chanler Ray, Caden Lane, and Gavyne Paul Fontenot; and great grandchildren, Kinslee, Mekale, and Renlee White.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Fontenot; his parents, Horace and Aline Fontenot; and his brothers, Webster, Roland, Sandrus, Lester, and Earl Fontenot.
