Garret Blayne Gorum, 46, of Sulphur, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at a local hospital surrounded by his family and friends. Blayne was an organ and tissue donor, and his family is proud that his last act was to provide life to others. Blayne pursued multiple educational degrees and careers, including history, law, real estate, and his true passion, filmmaking. Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Kristen Geddes Gorum; children, Clay, Avery, and Audrey; mother, Sally Gorum; father, Terry Gorum; grandmother, Geraldine Collins; mother-in-law, Colette Geddes; three nieces, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and pet, Joe Cat. Blayne was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Ronald Geddes, and by his loyal corgi, Hamish McCorgi. Services for Blayne will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 2pm at Henning Memorial United Methodist Church with Reverend Doug Cain officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 6, 2015 from 5-9pm at Johnson-Robison Funeral Home and on Saturday from 11am until the time of service. A reception at the church will follow the service. Cremation will follow, and the family will hold a private inurnment service at (whatever the official name of Henning's Columbarium is called) at a later date.
