Gary Anderson

February 21, 1938 — June 16, 2021

Gary Anderson, 83, of Moss Bluff passed away at 4:39 AM on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, in his residence.

Mr. Anderson was born on February 21, 1938, in Lake Charles where he resided all of his life and was a graduate of LaGrange High School.  He worked and retired as a plumber and pipeline welder and belonged to the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 106 and the Pipeline Local 798.  Upon retirement, he was able to travel and see the world, which he tremendously enjoyed.  Mr. Anderson’s greatest pleasure was spending time with his family and enjoying his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He was a member of First Baptist Church in Moss Bluff.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 15 years, Ivy Anderson of Moss Bluff; children, Brian Anderson (Sandy) of Longville, Mona Mouhot (Rick) of Moss Bluff, Billy Anderson of DeRidder, and Oren Anderson (Paula) of Moss Bluff; stepchildren, Ronnie Woodard (Sheree) of Crosby, TX and Roy Woodard of St. Gabriel; nine grandchildren; six step grandchildren; and nineteen great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years and the mother of his children, Freda Anderson; his parents, Edna and Quentin Anderson; brother Quentin “Bugs” Anderson; and a stepson, Kelvin Woodard.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 19, 2021, in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel in Moss Bluff.  The Rev. Jack Tillery will officiate.  Burial will follow in Highland Memory Garden Cemetery.  Visitation will begin on Friday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will resume on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the start of the service.
