Gaven Blane Demeritt

 Gaven is forever 22 years old. Son of Rebecca Broussard and Blane Demeritt of Sulphur, LA. Class of 2021.

Jesus loving, hardworking, blue collar, outdoorsman. He has had a passion for guns, belt buckles & cowboy hats since a young age. He dreamed of going into the Armed Forces.  As the respectful young man he grew into, Gaven was loved by anyone who met him. He always remained calm & was the voice of reason only when it was time. He had a huge heart for the ones he loved, and loyal to them is an understatement.

 The village, in which he was raised by his Maternal Grandmother Lisa Dowden, was most precious to him of all.

He is the oldest of 5 siblings. Waylen Demeritt Weeks, Grace & Brennan Broussard, Kyleigh Thibodeaux

All his life he could run next door to his Nanny & Parrain's house. Alicia Broussard & Joe Mott with all his cousins Zoey Broussard (Avery & Axton), Lezlie (Colson), Reagan & Jordan Mott. 'I'm going to Nanny's!!'

 He loved going to Mawmaw Mary Demeritt's house, they were two peas in a pod, and the best of friends. Aunt Shannon and Uncle (Rev.) Mitchell Bihm brought him to church events throughout the summers and watched him grow each year.

Family was very important to Gaven. His best friends became his family, Bryce, Grant, Gage & Remi.

He was a man of action, not words.

His silly, bubbly, loving, mysterious presence will be missed most of all.

 Gaven is greeted at the gates of heaven by lots of grandparents; Kathy Muich, Blane Demeritt Sr, Ethel Berry, Dudley Hebert, Jason and Pauline Demeritt.

 Services will be held by his uncle Rev. Mitchell Bihm at 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at Johnson Funeral Home of Sulphur. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Johnson Funeral Home of Sulphur, LA. Visitation will resume from 8:00 AM until time of service at Johnson Funeral Home of Sulphur on Wednesday. Burial will be a New Ritchie Cemetery in Moss Bluff, LA under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Sulphur.
