Gavyn Andrew Derise, born in Lake Charles on February 5, 2003, son of Lisa Derise, passed away November 30, 2023.
Gavyn was a graduate of Parkview High School in Sulphur. He worked as a tire repairman. In his free time, Gavyn enjoyed fishing, studying the ins and outs of vehicles, and being with family and friends. He loved God and prayed to him daily.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Lisa Derise, and grandfather, Herbert Derise, Sr.
Gavyn is survived by his grandmother, Carol Leblanc, and her husband, David Leblanc, Sr.; girlfriend, Abigail Johnson; children, Annalee Derise, and Ayden Johnson; aunts, Morgan and Shonell LeBlanc; uncles, Herbert Derise, Jr., and David “D.J.” Leblanc, Jr. and his wife, Tiffany; cousins, Alyssa and Trey Derise, and Trevor Nelson.
Funeral services will be in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation will begin Tuesday, December 5, 2023 in the funeral home from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.
