Genelle Marie Amy

Jul 17, 1938 — Jun 25, 2026

Lake Charles, Louisiana

Genelle Marie “Nell” Amy, 87, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 25, 2026, in Lake Charles, Louisiana. She was born on July 17, 1938, in Lafayette, Louisiana, to Clarence and Bernice Domingue Boullion.

Nell grew up in Lake Charles and graduated from LaGrange High School. As the oldest daughter of five children, she learned early the importance of family, responsibility, and caring for others. These qualities remained a steady part of who she was throughout her life.

Alongside her husband, Henry “Buddy” Amy, Nell was the co-owner of Amy Tractor & Sewer Systems. Together, they built and operated the business for 31 years before retiring in 1997. She took pride in her family, her work, and the life she and Buddy shared together.

Nell was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Lake Charles. Her faith was an important part of her life and helped guide the way she loved and served those around her. To her grandchildren, she was lovingly known as “Mi Mi,” a name that reflected the special place she held in their hearts. Nell’s life was marked by faith, family, and quiet devotion. She will be remembered with love by all who knew her, and her memory will remain a blessing to her family for generations to come.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Jimmy Amy (Carla), Mitchel Amy (Debbie), and Malisa Amy Hampton (Nelson); her grandchildren, Brady Amy (Alex), Tucker Amy (Callie), Madison Hampton, Macie Hampton, Morgan Hampton, Mitchell Amy (Jenni), and Zachary Amy (Kelli); her great-grandchildren, Grayson Amy, Caroline Amy, Henry Amy, Ellie Amy, and Harrison Amy; and her siblings, Willard Boullion, Vicki Jennings, Sue Guidry (Arthur), and Mae Roy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence, and Bernice Domingue Boullion, and her beloved husband of 62 years, Henry Lee “Buddy” Amy.

Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 9, 2026, in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.
