George Alan Daigle

March 6, 1949 — February 18, 2021

Iowa – George Alan Daigle, born March 6, 1949, son of the late George & Frances (Payne) Daigle, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2021, at the age of 71.

George served in the U. S. Marine Corp. He attended McNeese State University and retired from Maxim Crane Works. George enjoyed hunting, fishing, crabbing, boating, you name it, he loved being outdoors taking in all that nature has to offer. He could “MacGyver” anything and always had a project going on. He had an answer or solution for any problem that he came across. George had a true servant’s heart. He loved hosting gatherings especially his New Year’s Eve parties. George’s greatest joy came from his family, especially being “Poppy” to his grandchildren.

His infectious spirit and love for life will be missed by all who knew him.

George is survived by his wife; Jona (Witherwax) Daigle; daughters; Morgan Gotreaux (Brody) and Whitney Peterson (Bryant “Petey”); grandchildren; Noah, Ella, Grace, Carter and William; siblings; Michael Daigle (Diane), Paul Daigle, Valeria “Val” Daigle-Craig (Greg), Tommy Daigle (Deidra), and Kevin Daigle.

He is preceded in death by his parents; George & Frances Daigle; son; Nicholas Alan Daigle and sister; Donna Daigle.

Funeral services will be in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Brandon Oliver officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin Monday in the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and resume Tuesday from 8 a.m. until the time of service.

Attendees are asked to please wear facial coverings and per the request of the family, no food will be allowed in the funeral home.
