George William Knippers, 73, passed away peacefully December 16, 2017 with his family at his side.
George was a native of Hemphill, Texas and has resided in Sulphur for 50 years. He established Knipper's Wrecker Service over 45 years ago and operated the business until his retirement in 2013. George was a member of Parkview Baptist Church and also a board member of the Sabine River Authority. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, hunting and camping. George was a loving father and grandfather who will be remembered for his "big heart", strong work ethic, and integrity.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Judy Annette Knippers; and a brother, William West.
Those left to cherish his memory are two sons, Carson Heath Knippers and Kelly Knippers and wife Nichole; grandchildren, Kypp Andrea Knippers, Kailen Wells and husband Tyler, George Tanner Knippers and Realyn Mallory Knippers; sisters, Sandra Grillette, Patricia Harness and Carla Harris; and brothers, Thomas Knippers, Clifford Knippers and James West.
Services for George will be held at 11 A.M., Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home in Sulphur. Cremation will follow under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 18, 2017 from 5-9 PM and will resume Tuesday morning from 8 am until the time of service.Visits: 18
