George “Mike” Michael Frankos, Jr. (Baker), passed away at his home in Lake Charles, surrounded by his children on Tuesday, May 17, 2022.
He was born December 22, 1943, in Lake Charles to George Frankos and Annette Cascio Frankos. His mother married Bill J. Baker, who later adopted “Mike.”
Mike, along with Dawn owned Spanish World, Dawn’s Dried Flowers, and D & M Tours and along with his brother, Guy Baker, owned Bakers Rental’s.
Mike lived in Port Arthur, Texas, Lake Charles, and Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He attended High School at Lake Charles High and Istrouma High School in Baton Rouge. He married the love of his life in 1964, Dawn Billek Frankos. Mike and Dawn had four children, George Michael Frankos, III, Annette Frankos Kent, Georgina “Gina” Frankos, and Jeanine Frankos Cicardo (Craig); 6 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Lamont and Guy Baker, and his best friends, Thomas Broussard, and Jimmy Nagel.
Funeral services will be held in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa, Saturday, May 21, 2022, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Gilbert Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation begins in the funeral home on Saturday from 8 a.m. until the time of service at 10 a.m.
