George William Yates

George William Yates, 57, of Lake Charles, LA, died at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 in his residence.

Mr. Yates was born November 3, 1959 in Lake Charles, LA. He served his country in the U.S. Army and went to Bryan Military Academy for four years. He worked as a mechanic most of his life and in the last five years enjoyed working on lawn mowers. Mr. Yates will always be remembered as an easy going, yet fun individual that always stayed busy and was a “go-getter”. He was a provider and protector of his family, especially his beloved wife, Barbara. He loved his family dearly.

Mr. Yates is survived by his wife, Barbara Yates; father, William Yates and wife Rochelle; mother, Barbara Hardy and husband Don; and sister, Debra Welch and husband Troy.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Doc and Annie Parker and William and Anna Yates.

His memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, December 30, 2016 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Hannah Henderson will officiate. Gathering of family and friends will be at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
