The family and friends of Georgia Trahan McRight are mourning the loss of their loved one who was called from this life to the next at the age of 90 years.
Georgia was born to Theodore Trahan, Sr. and Annie Mae Romero in Orange, TX on July 15, 1930. She left this life on Thursday, March 25, 2021 in Sulphur, LA. Georgia was married to Kenneth McRight on May 10, 1947. They were married 57 years until Kenneth’s death in 2004.
She lived most of her early life in Johnson Bayou, LA. Georgia drove a bus for 23 years, then was employed for 15 years at Mobil Oil in Johnson Bayou. In 1998,
Georgia and Kenneth moved to Sulphur, LA to be closer to their children and grandchildren.
Georgia lived life to the fullest and could do any project or task set before her. She was a Christian who was a life long Southern Baptist. At the time of her death, she was active member of Central Baptist Church in Sulphur, LA.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Gwendolyn Frey, and Jennifer Dawn Nicholson (Steve); six grandchildren, Beth Frey, Ellen Frey (Toni), Noah Nicholson, Jonah Nicholson, Grace Nicholson, and Eden Nicholson. All live in the Sulphur/ Lake Charles area. Georgia is survived by her two brothers, Ted Trahan (Becky) of Lake Charles and Carroll Trahan (Mary Ann) of Sulphur; three sisters, Elaine Carter (Sonny) of Woodworth, LA; Linda Vining (Ron) of Mississippi, and Faye Brier (Paul) of Lafayette.
Georgia was preceded in death by her brothers, Nathan Trahan and Armond Trahan; sisters, Leanna Trahan Broussard, and infant sister Annabelle Trahan.
Georgia will be greatly missed but was looking forward to the reunion with those preceding her in death.
The family would like to “Thank” Heart of Hospice for their wonderful care and also her two caring and loving sitters, Krissi and Charlotte.
Funeral Service honoring Georgia’s life will be held at 2pm, Sunday, March 28, 2021 in Johnson and Robison Funeral Home of Sulphur. Interment will follow at Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss. Visitation will be 5 – 8pm, Saturday and resume at 12pm, Sunday until time of service at 2pm. Words of comfort and memories may be shared with the family at www.robisonfuneralhome.com.
