Georgie B. Duhon

Georgie Ann Bourque Duhon, 92, of Lake Charles passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 in her residence with her children by her side.

Mrs. Duhon was born on June 25, 1928 in Scott, LA to Ulysses and Elita Prejean Bourque.  She attended SLI, now ULL in Lafayette, LA.  Earlier in life, she was an avid golfer.  Georgie also enjoyed gardening, and definitely had a “green thumb.”  She was a great homemaker and cook, taking care of her family with a servant’s heart.  She was a woman of faith and prayer, who prayed the rosary often.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Cherie Norsworthy (Greg) of Lake Charles, Charles Duhon (Melanie) of Tulsa, OK, Gary Duhon (Sherrel) of Maurice, LA, Bobby Duhon (Michael) of Austin, TX, and Brian Duhon (Pam) of Lake Charles; thirteen grandchildren; and eighteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Leo Duhon, and her son, Thomas Joseph Duhon.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Georgie’s caregivers, Odessa Fontenot, Enola Batiste, Crystal Ardoin, Laura Young, and Shawna Frank.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 5, 2021 at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church.  *Mask required… Please respect social distancing.  Msgr. Jace Eskind will officiate.  Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  Visitation will be Friday in the church from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.

Due to Covid19, the family has decided to have a private, immediate family service.  We know that you will be with us in prayer.
