Gerald Abshire, 62, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2016.
Gerald was born on February 4, 1954 in Lake Charles to the late Leo and Nettie Ardoin Abshire. He was a native of Lacassine and attended Lacassine High. Gerald had a passion for reading and writing.
He is survived by his children, Cisco Abshire and wife Kristi, Sabrina Abshire and Richard Wilkins grandchildren Destiny, Emma, Easton, Kaianna, Kelvin. Kayden; nieces and nephews, Russell Abshire, Debra Brown and husband Mike, Carla Oliver, Dana Bell and husband Al, Alex Abshire, Eric Abshire; 5 great nieces and nephews and 1 great great nephew.
Gerald is preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Nettie Abshire and his brother Harold Abshire.
A memorial service will be in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home, Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 11 a.m. Gathering of family and friends will begin Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service in the funeral home.
