Gerald Lynn “Shotgun” Miller, born in Lake Charles on August 29, 1956, son of Arcade and Nell Jean Lognion Miller, passed away March 28, 2025, at the age of sixty-eight.
Shotgun, as he was affectionally known, was a graduate of Bell City High School. He worked for many years with Whitaker & Webb as a surveyor, and later for his sister and brother-in-law at McKenzie Pest Control. He was an avid gun collector and enjoyed showing his extensive collection to his nephews and great-nephews. He loved military history and watching NASCAR. Shotgun also enjoyed listening to the Eagles extra loud and supporting his President, Donald Trump.
He is preceded in death by his father, Arcade Miller, Jr.
Survivors are his daughter, Ashley Dewees and husband, Brett; mother, Nell Jean Miller; siblings, Kim Dubrock and husband, Keith, and Michael “Mike” Miller and wife, Fran; two grandchildren, Georgia and Micah Dewees.
Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Private memorial services will be announced at a later date.
