Gerald Wayne White, 40, of Carlyss, passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on September 29, 1976 to parents Lawrence and Sheryl “Mama White’. He loved to hunt, fish, camping, riding horses, and learned to build a shop and kill a deer with one arm. He enjoyed fixing and working on things, and loved helping others with their projects. He always had a helping hand. Gerald loved being able to coach his daughters in softball, and he was very proud of them. He was looking forward to coaching the little ones, but we know he’ll be guiding them from heaven. He was a welder by trade for over 20 years, which he enjoyed. He was a parishioner at both St. Theresa’s and Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Churches. He is a Cursillo and ACTS brother. Even in sickness, his faith grew which inspired others all around him. Most of all, he loved his family and his kids, and was very proud to finally have a son that he knows will be taught the things he would have loved to.
He is survived by the love of his life, Tonya, of 18 years, who was truly there through sickness and in health. Gerald also leaves behind his parents; one son, Eli White; four daughters, Chelsey White, Kaitlyn Hilton, Amily Domingue, and Kynlee White, all of Sulphur; 2 grandsons, Kylan White, Sylas White, and a grandson on the way; 1 granddaughter, Serinity Hahn; 2 brothers, Kurt White and wife Amanda, Mitchell White and wife Monica; 1 sister, Angela Cormier; along with numerous nieces and nephews he loved dearly. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, J.C. and Gladys O’Quain.
