Geraldine “Geri” Perry Caldwell, 90, passed away in her home with her loving daughter by her side on Saturday, November 23, 2024. Geraldine was a student of Church Point Elementary and Church Point Junior High before moving to Sulphur and attending Sulphur High School. While attending Sulphur High School she participated as a Toreador in Sulphur High's marching group. She was also a soloist in the church choir. Geraldine had many hobbies which included, singing, music, dancing, cooking, and puzzles. She taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and lead the choir for both adults and children for her church. She was an active member of the Methodist church women's group. Geraldine was a CARC member and was a Bluebird Leader. She helped her husband build a house all while raising four children. Geraldine loved all babies and children as each one held a special place in her heart. She was a caregiver which was evident by her care given to her own mother in her later years. Geraldine loved family gatherings and the time spent with them. She attended United Wesley Methodist Church where she met her husband and started the best love story of all.
Those left to cherish the memory of Geraldine are her daughter, Connie E. Hall (Caldwell); her son, David C. Caldwell (Ginger); grandchildren, Jai, Erryn, Joshua, Becky, Jonathon, Phyllicia, Jordan, and Matthew; great grandchildren, Haley, Ariel, Ashley, Robert, Tucker, Aven, Olivia, Little Haley, Sarah, Austin, Erica, Monica, Lucy, Landry; brothers, Gerald Perry, Wayne Perry (Frances), William "Billy" Perry (Annie), and Rodney Perry; sister, Carolyn Perry Nunez; and many nephews and six nieces.
Geraldine is preceded in death by her husband, Mitchel Dee Caldwell; sons, Terry Michael Caldwell and Bruce Elliot Caldwell; father, Harold Simmons Perry; mother, Velma Hoffpauir Perry; sisters, Linda Gayle Perry and Connie Elaine Perry.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Amedisys Hospice of Newman, Ga. (especially Nurse Suzanne), and her caregivers, Karen Linsey and Jori Mayer.
Funeral services for Geraldine will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, December 7,2024 at Wesley United Methodist Church with a burial to follow at Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss.
