Glen Leon Pennick

Glen Leon Pennick, 84, of Lake Charles went to be with his Lord and Savior and his loving wife of 54 years on Saturday, July 15, 2017.

He was born on October 2, 1932 to Ray and Myrtle Trim Pennick in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

In 1959, he married Kathleen Jean Hoffpauir and in 1960 they moved to Lake Charles and began raising a family. He served our country honorably in the United States Army before becoming a beloved milk delivery man to local schools for over 30 years. He is said never to have met a stranger. Mr. Pennick will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather who enjoyed spending time and playing games with all of his children. He also enjoyed reading, studying history, and baseball.

Those left to cherish his memory are children, Marla Pennick, Lake Charles, Geneva Clarkson and husband Bob, Lake Charles, and Doyle Pennick and wife Kim, Lake Charles; sister, Donna Pennick, Tulsa, OK; two brothers in law, Norman Elmer Hoffpauir and Haywood Hoffpauir and wife Helen; sister in law, Pat Hoffpauir; grandchildren, Clint Pennick and wife Kristy, Mandy Pennick, Paige Weaver and husband Chris, Brian Pennick, Kristen Fruge and husband Jacob, Stephen Pennick and Chad Clarkson; and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Mr. Pennick was preceded in death by his wife and an infant daughter, Eileen Ruth Pennick.

His funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. John Hoffpauir will officiate. Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5 PM until 9 PM on Monday and will resume from 10 AM until the start of the service on Tuesday.
