Glen Thomas Couture, 64, of Iowa, LA passed away Monday, October 10, 2016 in his home.
Mr. Couture was born in Putnam, CT, was educated in and lived as a young adult in CT. He has lived thirty years in the Lake Charles area where he has continued his lifelong career as a carpenter. He was a skilled craftsman of his industry, a talented woodworker and was of few licensed in Historical Restoration. During his younger years, Mr. Couture enjoyed playing guitar and singing with his band. He enjoyed cooking and going for a drive, both of which were always accompanied with his singing. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved fishing, hunting, rivers and brooks. He took great pride in keeping an immaculate lawn and home. Mr. Couture will be most remembered as admirable, hardworking and honest; a quiet man who spoke volumes.
He leaves to honor his memory, two daughters, Temple Couture-Barna of Woodstock, CT and Katlin Couture of Norwich, CT; one son, Christopher Couture of Iowa, LA; five grandchildren, Harmony and Payton Barna of Woodstock, CT, Sebastian Yaraita of Norwich, CT, Roman Couture and Emily Boutin of Iowa, LA ; one uncle, Mickey Couture and wife Lucille of Plainville, CT; dear cousin, Holly Terwilliger of Eureka, CA; dear friend, Gail Buller; neighbor and friends, Paul and Bertha. He also leaves a rich body of friends in the Lake area community and deep family roots in Connecticut.
He was preceded in death, by his parents, Norman and Nannette Couture and brother, Dean Couture.
In respect of his wishes, Mr. Couture was cremated under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
