Glenda Kaye Abshire, 71, passed away on March 2, 2020 in a local hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was a lifelong resident of Sulphur, graduating from Sulphur High School and McNeese State University. Glenda served as a med-tech for over 33 years at Cal-Cam Hospital. She was a huge collector of dolls, and an avid animal lover. She loved to dance and loved all children.
Glenda is survived by her sister, Leticia Boullion and husband Kevin of Sulphur; 6 nieces, Kammie Dronette (Tim), Rachael Young, Megan Young, Shawna Carlson (Keith), Mandy Maida (Chad) and Kristen Murry (Jeremy); nephew, Austin Boullion; 8 great nieces; 9 great nephews;3 great-great nieces; 2 great-great grand nephews; and brother-in-law, Dennis Young. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilford and Joyce Abshire; and sister, Gwen Young.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at 10 A.M. at Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church in Sulphur with Father Andrews Kollannoors, M.S. officiating. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 from 5-8 P.M. with a rosary at 6 P.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Visitation will continue Thursday, March 5, at 8 A.M. until time of leaving for the church.
