Glenn Broussard

April 5, 1965 — December 14, 2018

Glenn Broussard, 53, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 14, 2018 in a local hospital surrounded by his wife and daughters.

He was given the gift of life on April 5, 1965 to Elwood and Faye Landreneau Broussard in Lafayette, Louisiana. He was a beloved and loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. A beautiful family and everyone who knew him will be forever changed by this devastating loss of this wonderful, amazing man. No matter how late his shift he would drive straight to the football field so that he would never miss any of his daughters’ performances. Glenn never met a stranger and always had something nice to say about everyone. He was always curious and eager to learn new things. Mr. Broussard worked in the medical field for over 30 years beginning as a Medic with Acadian Ambulance. In those years he progressed to an LPN and then finally becoming an amazing, compassionate Registered Nurse. He cared deeply for his patients and coworkers. He enjoyed watching the New Orleans Saints, even though they could make him crazy, and was hoping for another Super Bowl this year.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of nine years, Angela Broussard; daughters, Jessica Broussard, Alexis Broussard and Madalyn Daley; father, Elwood Broussard; siblings, David Broussard and wife Tammy, sister Joan Broussard; nieces, Sylvia Broussard, Lauren White and Victoria Fontenot; nephews, Trevor and Tristan Broussard; mother-in-law, Warene (Bootsie) Fontenot; brother-in-law, John Fontenot and wife Michelle; other family members, Lestan Reynaud, Jeanne Bellows, Melissa Robic, Renee Reynaud and numerous beloved aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Isabelle Faye Landreneau Broussard; biological half brother, Richard Reynaud; and his grandparents.

His memorial service will be held at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 2 PM. The Rev. Tim Goodly will officiate.

Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff on Tuesday from 4 PM until 8 PM with a rosary to be recited at 6 PM. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11 AM until 2 PM. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of Lake Charles Memorial Hospital for their compassion and care during this difficult time.
