Gloria Jean “Jeannie” Miller, 66, of Lake Charles, LA, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2017 in her residence.
Jeannie was born on November 21, 1951 in Navasota, TX to William and Gloria Sistrunk. She was a graduate of Grand Lake High School where she showed her athleticism as a member of the track and basketball team. After high school she went on to graduate from McNeese State University with a Word Processing Degree. She and her husband were pastors at Moss Bluff Assembly of God for 17+ years and she continued her worship through bible study with the employees of Levingston Group where she was a secretary for more than 20 years. Jeannie was an anointed and talented musician as she played the saxophone and the accordion, as well as the keyboard as she sang and worshiped in church.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 46 years, Daniel “Danny” Miller of Lake Charles; sons, David Miller of Lake Charles and Benjamin “Ben” Miller of North Carolina; brother, Donald “Don” Sistrunk of Ragley; mother, Gloria Odom Colley; step-father, Charles “Chuck” Colley; many other loved family members; as well as her beloved church family.
She is preceded in death by her father, William Sistrunk.
Jeannie’s funeral service will be held at The Vineyard Church Moss Bluff at 1:00 PM on Monday, December 4, 2017. Pastor Tim Nicholas will officiate. Cremation will be entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Sunday, December 3, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a Celebration of Life Service at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Monday at The Vineyard Church Moss Bluff at 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM.
