Gloria Lee Legros Cannon

Gloria Lee LeGros Cannon, 74, of Lake Charles, LA, died at 1:57 PM on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 in her residence, surrounded by loved ones.

Born June 4, 1944 in Jennings, LA, Mrs. Cannon moved to Lake Charles when she was twelve years old and was a 1962 graduate of LaGrange High School.  She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church.  She started her career out at Merle Norman and later retired from Dillard’s after over thirteen years of service.  Mrs. Cannon was always very health conscious and enjoyed working out at GiGi’s, where she was a charter member.  Nothing brought her more joy in life than her family and her grandchildren; she will be missed dearly.

Mrs. Cannon is survived by her husband of fifty-seven years, James “Ray” Cannon, Sr. of Lake Charles; daughter, Sherry Leigh Hawkins-Buggs and husband Frankie of Baytown, TX; son, James “Jamie” Cannon, Jr. and wife Megan of Lake Charles; sister, Linda Anderson and husband Buster of Covington, LA; brother-in-law, Roger LeGros, Sr.; sister-in-law, Janis Helluin LeGros; grandchildren, Brandon, Amanda, Scott, Adrian, Josh, Sean, Abby, and Liam; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Percy Lee and Gloria Ann Dunn LeGros; daughter, Angela Lynn Cannon; sister, Carol Ann LeGros; and two brothers, Don LeGros and Steve LeGros.

Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel.  Father Nathan Long will officiate and eulogy will be delivered by Howard Cannon.  Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery.  Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM and continue on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the start of the service.
