Grace M. Manuel

Grace O’Quin Manuel, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away in a local care facility on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at the age of eighty-nine.

Grace was born in Elton on November 22, 1935, the daughter of Elvis and Lorenza Lopez O’Quin. She attended school in Kinder. She married Gene Manuel on January 28, 1961. Her many interests included crafts, puzzles, painting and tending to her birds. She was faithful to her Catholic faith. Her memory will be treasured by who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and daughter, Brenda Manuel.

Survivors are her husband of sixty-four years, Gene Manuel; son, Bryon Manuel and wife, Peggy; nephew who was like a son, John Manuel; grandchildren, Lauren Manuel, Kayla Canik, Wade Romero, Corey Romero, Cade Gill and Samantha Guidry, and nine great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian burial will be in St. Raphael Catholic Church on Friday, March 7, 2025 at 11 a.m. Rev. Jom Joseph, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Carter Cemetery in Kinder under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation will begin in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m., with a rosary recited at 10 a.m.
