Sulphur – Gregory G. Gremillion, born November 13, 1947, son of the late Chester J. and Rita (LeBlanc) Gremillion, passed away in a local hospital Thursday, January 17, 2019, at the age of 71.
Greg was a graduate of Sulphur High and was a member of the 1965 State championship Sulphur High football team. He graduated from Sowela with a degree in diesel mechanics. Greg was a member of the Knights of Columbus, #3015 and Our Lady of Prompt Succor of Sulphur. He retired from PPG. In his spare time, he enjoyed tinkering with small engines, working jumble puzzles, playing his fiddle and French music. His grandchildren brought him joy. He loved watching his granddaughter perform in gymnastics and his grandson in band.
Survivors are his wife of 47 years, Waldeane Gremillion; son, Chester Joseph Gremillion of Sulphur; brothers, Glen D. Gremillion of Krotz Springs, LA; Gordon L. Gremillion (Shayne) of Hackberry; Grady J. Gremillion of Texas; sisters, Gwen Poole (Johnny) and Gayla Shove (George); both of Hackberry; grandchildren, Christopher J. Gremillion and Courtlyn J. Gremillion. He is preceded in death by his parents.
As per his wishes, cremation has been entrusted to Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa.
A Memorial mass will be held in Our Lady of Prompt Succor - Day Chapel in Sulphur on February 9, 2019 at 10 a.m. Following the memorial mass, a gathering of friends will be in the Knights of Columbus #3015, 401 Ash Street, Sulphur at 11 a.m.
