Gregory Phillip Guillory

Gregory Phillip Guillory, 67, of Lake Charles died at 10:18 AM on Thursday, December 15, 2016 in a local hospital.

Mr. Guillory was born on April 3, 1949 in Kinder, LA and lived most of his life in Lake Charles where he was a graduate of LaGrange High School. He furthered his education at McNeese State University receiving a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Management and Biology. While attending McNeese he was a member of the ROTC for two years. In his earlier years he was an Eagle Scout.

He was an avid sportsman who loved hunting and fishing and also gardening. He lived a life of service having cared for the sick and elderly.

Those left to cherish his memory are three sisters, Mary Gibson (Rusty) of Lafayette, Cindy Hymel (Tommy) of Lake Charles, and Carole Glasgow of Richmond, TX; a sister-in-law, Roberta Guillory of Sulphur; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joetta and Leroy Guillory; his companion of 25 years, Glenda Baggett; a brother, Stephen Guillory; and a nephew, Aaron Gibson.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 19, 2016 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. The Rev. Matthew Cormier will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Sunday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 5:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Monday from 8:00 AM until leaving for the church at 9:30 AM.
