Greta Thibodeaux Veillon

October 10, 1971 — January 8, 2024

Greta Kaye Thibodeaux Veillon passed away Monday, January 8, 2024 in her home after a very brave and courageous battle with cancer.

Greta’s life began on October 10, 1971 in Lake Charles. She got her quick wit and strong will from her father, Preston Thibodeaux, and her love and compassion from her mother, Kathy (Deshotel) Thibodeaux.

She was very well accomplished academically as a graduate of LaGrange High School, and she studied business at McNeese State University.

Greta was also a very motivated and dedicated employee at Setpoint Integrated solutions. She started at the front, answering the phone for Carter-Chambers, LLC (which later was converted to Setpoint) and worked her way all the way up Administrator for all fleet vehicles and the primary contracts administrator. She worked there for 15 years and during her time with the company, Greta provided support for all setpoint and Valsource sites and executive leadership.

She enjoyed many things in this life. The waves, the sun and the salt in the air at the beach, the tranquility of the mountains in Arkansas, and doting on her beautiful granddaughter, Collyns. She was also a professional marathon shopper. Greta loved spending time with her family, especially Collyns, and her daughter, Emilee, and was a friend to everyone she knew. There is no one quite like Greta, and her bright light will be missed by all those that had the joy of knowing her.

She is preceded in death by her father, Preston Thibodeaux, and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Barbara and Aaron Veillon.

Left to cherish her wonderful memory is her husband of 33 years, Lane Veillon; daughter, Emilee Veillon; mother, Kathy Thibodeaux; granddaughter, Collyns; siblings, Troy Thibodeaux and wife, Joleen, Kevin Thibodeaux and wife, Karen, and Tessa Thibodeaux and companion, Richard Miller. Greta is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held in Johnson & Brown funeral home of Iowa on Friday, January 12, 2024 at 11 a.m. Reverand Roland Vaughn, Celebrant.
