Gwynn E. Savant, 66, of Lake Charles, LA died at 7:00 PM on Monday, December 7, 2015 in her residence.
Ms. Savant was born September 10, 1949 in Lake Charles, LA, and lived a number of years in Kinder, LA, Dallas, TX, and Houston, TX before moving back to Lake Charles a few months ago. She was a 1967 graduate of LaGrange High School. She worked as a legal assistant and office manager for Raggio, Cappel Law Firm for twenty-five years and retired from K.M. Delaney and Associates. Ms. Savant enjoyed games, cross stitching and was an avid reader. She loved her grandchildren and was very active in their activities. She will always be remembered for her generous heart and would often open her doors to anyone in need.
Ms. Savant is survived by her daughter, Felicia Borel and husband Mark of Moss Bluff; sons, Max Edward Savant and Brett Savant, both of Houston, TX; brothers, Al Burguieres of Lake Charles, Bill Burguieres of Florida, and Bob Burguieres of Virginia; sister, Rosalind Ruckstuhl of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Justin Kolb, Andrew Regan, and Brooklynn Thornton and husband Hunter; great-granddaughters, Harper Thornton and Emri Regan; and her best friend, Kathy Delaney of Houston, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Clay Ruckstuhl; and niece, Mary Michelle Ruckstuhl.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 11, 2015 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Monsignor James Gaddy will officiate. A private burial at Consolata Cemetery will be at a later date. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Friday from 8:00 AM to 9:40 AM at the funeral home.
