Gayle Marshall, 74, of Lake Charles, died Saturday, December 31, at his residence. Gayle was born August 6, 1948, in Lake Charles and was a 1966 graduate of Lake Charles High School. He graduated from McNeese State University in 1969 and received his Juris Doctorate from Tulane University in New Orleans. He was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity.
Gayle practiced law in Lake Charles for many years and worked for the American Red Cross, Johnson Funeral Home, and Consolata Cemetery before his retirement.
He was an active member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church serving as usher, lector, and choir member. He was an active member of ACTS. He enjoyed in his spare time playing golf, traveling, spending time with his grandchildren, and solving crossword puzzles.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Ann Martin Collins Marshall his parents, H. B. and Inez Browning Marshall.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Michael Marshall (LeAnna) of Lake Charles, and Megan Mariveles (Rei) of Spring, Texas, a cousin and sister at heart, Kay Vaughan of Lake Charles, his beloved grandchildren, Noah, Hayden, and Reese Harper.
Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday, January 2, at Johnson Funeral Home with a Scripture Service at 6:00 PM. Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 3, at Consolata Cemetery. Deacon Harold J. Nixon will officiate.
