Iowa – Harris L. Pousson, 85, passed away in the comfort of his home on April 12, 2016, surrounded by his family.
Harris was born in Iowa on January 6, 1931 to the late John Durel and Ida Marie Bourgeous Pousson. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, shrimping, camping, woodworking and working on boats. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, Optimist Club and also a Boy scout leader. Harris served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked with PPG as a welder and also worked as a Tug Boat Captain.
Survivors include his brother, John D. Pousson, Jr (Betty) of Austin; sisters, Juanita Hardy (Walter Deshotel) of Iowa; Mary Nell Miller; Margerite Gros both of Lacassine; Annette Marie Pousson of New York. He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Alfred Andrew Pousson and Hazel Ruth McGee.
A Mass of Christian burial will be in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Rojo Antony officiating on Friday, April 15, 2016 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery. Visitation begins Thursday in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. and will resume Friday from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
