Harry "Bud" Hinton, Jr., 84, of Lake Charles, LA died on Wednesday, September 16, 2015, surrounded by his family. Mr. Hinton was born January 14, 1931 in Eloy, AZ and lived in Lake Charles all of his life. He was a graduate of LaGrange Senior High School and served three years in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a carpenter for thirty-eight years at F. Miller and Son Construction and retired as a carpenter. Pawpaw as he was known by most was an avid hunter and fisherman and will be remembered mostly for his fry cooking, especially his fried catfish and fried turkeys. He loved his family and grandchildren greatly and also enjoyed dancing and watching LSU and McNeese football games. Mr. Hinton is survived by his sons, Darrell Hinton and wife Cris of Lake Charles and Patrick Hinton and wife Alice of Iowa, LA; sisters, Carrie Lee Vidrine and Frances "Teetun" Bertrand, both of Lake Charles, and Jo Ann Hebert of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Natalie Medders and husband Jeff, Rachel Tillman and husband Stuart, Emily Hinton, Matthew Hinton, and Jacob Hinton; and great-grandchildren, Ivy Grace Medders, Oliver Medders, and Jenika Elaine Hinton. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-two years, JoAnn Derouen Hinton. His funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Brian Fitkin and Jeff Medders will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and continue on Saturday from 8:00 AM until the start of the services.
