Hayes – Harry J. Israel, 83, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017 in his residence.
Harry was born in Welsh on August 30, 1933 to the late John and Amelia (Manuel) Israel. He worked as a shrimper and fisherman for many years.
Harry is survived by his daughter, Beverly Israel; siblings, Norris Israel (Anne) and Elvina Lee Israel; grandchildren, Rocky, Mark and Bailey Israel; great-grandchildren, Koden and Leslie Israel; nieces, Diane Borne, Nancy Blount, Suzanne Gautney and Yvonne Boyington; nephews, Wayne Streets, Joey Creswell and Jo Jo Israel and numerous great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty Israel; sons, Curtis and Gilbert Israel; siblings, Lucie Israel Streets, John F. Israel and Pearl Creswell.
Visitation will begin Tuesday, May 9, 2017 from 1 p.m. – 7 p.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Visitation will continue after the service until 7 p.m. Cremation will follow the service under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home.
