Harry Lee Aguillard

September 25, 1938 — January 4, 2019

Harry Lee Aguillard, 80, of Lake Charles died Friday, January 4, 2019 in the comfort of his home.

Mr. Aguillard was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles.  He worked as a rice, soybean and cattle farmer.  During his younger years he enjoyed playing guitar with friends and later years for family.  He also enjoyed many years of working with his horses.  He was an admirable man with love of faith and family.  He was an affiliate of the Louisiana Cattlemen’s Association, a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and a former member of Knights of Columbus.  Mr. Aguillard will be most remembered for his patient, kind and gentle nature, his generosity, his sense of humor and ability to make people laugh.

He leaves to honor his memory his wife of sixty years, Jeanette Vanicor Aguillard of Lake Charles; three children, David Emile Aguillard and wife Sandra of Normangee, TX, Lisa Aguillard Blackmon of Lake Charles and Lane Keith Aguillard and wife Shelly of  Lake Charles; six grandchildren, Corey Aguillard (Corrin), Kristen Treloar (Dean), Cody Keller (Ginny), Emily Keller and fiancé, Jevin Hebert, L.J. Aguillard and Ella Aguillard; six great-grandchildren and one on the way; one brother, Jimmy Aguillard and wife Mercedes of Lake Charles; two sisters, Virgie Marceaux of LeBleu Settlement and Annabelle Taylor, of Grand Lake and one sister-in-law, Ada Aguillard of Grand Lake; many nieces and nephews and many dear friends, most especially his lifelong friend, Leroy Crochet of Lake Charles.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emile and Junice Richard Aguillard and one brother, Oscar Ray Aguillard, Sr.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Monday, January 7, 2019 at Christ the King Catholic Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  The Very Reverend Anthony Fontenot will officiate.  Interment will follow in Consolata Cemetery.  Visitation Sunday will be from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary service beginning at 6:00 PM.  Visitation Monday will be from 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM in the funeral home.
