Frank Golightly, Jr.

Frank Golightly, Jr, 81, of Moss Bluff passed away at 5:22 PM on Friday, November 7, 2025 in a local hospice facility.

Frank was born to Hartwell Frank Golightly and Laura Golightly in Lake Charles, LA on December 2, 1943. He was raised in Iowa, LA where he was a graduate of Iowa High School.

Frank began his career as an operator with Cities Service, where he worked diligently before retiring. He later joined the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office, proudly serving his community for 19 years and retiring as a patrol officer.

A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Frank found great joy in spending time with his wife, Jean, his children, and his grandchildren. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and enjoying the simple pleasures of life with those he loved most.

Frank is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Jean; his sons, Steven Golightly and wife, Leah, Chris Golightly and wife Stacy, Bryan Golightly, Eric Sonnier and his wife Dawana, and Rebel Sonnier and his wife Jennifer; his cherished grandchildren, Laura and Colton Rainwater, Nick Golightly, Hayleigh and Kyle Snell, Jaycob and Mattie Golightly, Layla Mobley, Jonathon and Kaycie Golightly, Joshua and Becky Golightly, Casey Sonnier, Eric Sonnier, and Nicholas Sonnier; and great grandchildren, Stella and Myles Rainwater, Ava Grace Golightly, Brody, Brecken and Blaire Snell, JJ (Jaycob Jr) and David Hartwell Golightly, Kaylan Ellis, and Kennli, Addi and Elli Golightly.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Hartwell Frank Golightly, Sr and Laura Golightly; and his sister, Lois Delasalle.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel in Moss Bluff. Rev. Steve Shirley will officiate. Burial will follow at 2:30 PM in Lacassine Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM until the start of the service.

Pallbearers will be: Jaycob Golightly, Joshua Golightly, Jonathon Golightly, Colton Rainwater, Kyle Snell, and Nick Golightly.
