Hazel Lee Huckeba

Hazel Lee Huckeba, 95, of Lake Charles passed away at 7:00 PM on Monday, July 9, 2018 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Huckeba was born on December 20, 1922 in Stonewall, MS and moved to Lake Charles with her husband in 1946. She was a charter member of Oak Park United Methodist Church.

She was devoted to her children and was very active in their activities and classrooms.

Those left to cherish her memory are a son, Wayne Huckeba (Vickie) of Sulphur; a daughter, Donna Verret (Donnie) of Lake Charles; four siblings, Lully Collins, Hulon Harper (Dixie), Bunt Harper (Anne), and Ricky Harper (Becky) all of Stonewall, MS; six grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Huckeba; a son, Ken Huckeba; sister, Claudia Kidd; brother, Toby Harper; and parents, Leona and Clarence Harper.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 13, 2018 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Roger Templeton will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will begin on Thursday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will resume on Friday from 9:00 AM until the start of the services.
