Helen Deshotel Guidry of Sulphur, LA, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at Houston Methodist Hospital with her daughter by her side. Helen was born in Hayes, LA on February 21, 1946 to Edward Joseph Deshotel and Annie Mae Moore Deshotel. She graduated from Jennings High School in 1964. Helen moved to Sulphur in 1970 where she went to work for Calcasieu Marine National Bank. In the later 70's Helen went to work for Kenny Phipps and Albert Andrepont at Sulphur Auto Sales and thus began her career in the used car business. Kenny Phipps later purchased Lake Charles Dealers Auto Auction and Helen went to work there for him. In 1991 the Auction was sold to Mike Pedersen and Helen remained employed there until 2000 at which time she returned to work for Kenny Phipps at AutoPlex 2000. Helen worked at AutoPlex 2000 up until 2011 due to medical reasons. Helen loved the used car business and the many, many, many friends she made along the path of her career. Helen was a very devoted and loving mother to her daughter Donna Guidry Knauf (Bobby) of League City, TX, grandmother to Robyn Knauf Schoonover (Matthew) and great grandmother to her precious babies of which she adored Rylee, Carter and Corey all of La Porte, TX. Helen had numerous nieces and nephews whom she treasured. Helen was very blessed to have some very special sisters by heart in her lifetime of which must be mentioned because of what their friendship meant to her. These sisters are Carol Isgitt Ames of Seguin, TX, Gerry Reeves and Ferdie Cooley of Sulphur, LA, and preceded in death sister Debbie Dubrock Trahan. Helen loved each and every one of these ladies with all her heart. Helen is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Joseph (Milo) Deshotel and Harry Lee Deshotel.
