Iowa – Helen Margret Givens, born on June 24, 1942 in Shreveport, La., as the daughter of the late Pernie Hinson and Martha Louise (Brown), passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2021, at the age of 79.
Helen enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and neighbors. Going to bingo and the Casino’s were some of Helens favorite activities. Helen was very fond of her bunco group. She always loved her pets, especially her puppies and birds. Helen worked at Wal-Mart as a sales associate for 10 years, before retiring.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Tina Ezell (Michael); sister, Mary Boynton (Ray); grandchildren, Tara Ross (Chad), Mike Ezell, Jr. (Shante), Amedie Perry (Jason); Helen had 9 great-grandchildren, Ragen Ross, Jaden Ross, Dylan Jimenez, John Paul Ross, Cheyenne Jimenez, Korben Ross, Katelyn Ezell, and Kameron Ezell. Helen was especially close to her nieces Paula Boynton Rhodes, Lisa Boynton Harris and nephews Robert (Boynton) Ratzeman and Ray Boynton, Jr.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Malcolm Givens; parents; son, Fred Wilton Collinsworth, Jr.; her great granddaughter, Hailey Ross.
Memorial services will be held at Waters Edge Church on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 11 a.m., Pastor Tony Bourque will officiate.
