Helen Marie East

Helen Marie East, 69, of Sulphur passed away on June 13, 2015 in her residence. Helen was born in Vinton, LA and a life-long resident of Hackberry, moving to Sulphur after Hurricane Ike. She was an avid LSU and Saints fan and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Helen is survived by her son, Wilson Poncho" L. East II and wife Kimberly of Sulphur; two brothers, Frances "Sonny" Morgan and wife Judy and Clifton Morgan; a sister, Betty Bumgarden; and 2 grandchildren, Charles Dustin Strauss and Scarlett Merle East. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson "Red" L East; her parents, Willie and Josephine Morgan; 2 brothers, Alvin and Harry Morgan and a sister, Anna Dowden. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at 11 A.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Theron Watson officiating. Burial will be in New Hackberry Cemetery in Hackberry, LA under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 15, 2015 from 4-9 P.M. at the funeral home with visitation continuing on Tuesday at 9 A.m. until time of the service.
