Henry "Bud" Amy

Henry Amy 83, of Lake Charles, LA passed away suddenly at his home on October 25, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Amy was born on May 5, 1935 in Iowa, LA to Felix and Rose Marcantel Amy.

 

Henry, or “Bud”, as he was known to his friends, served in the Army National Guard and then became a member of the Lake Charles Fire Department. After serving as a firefighter for 24 years, he retired as a Captain. Bud was also known for being the owner and operator of Amy’s Tractor and Sewer Service which he founded in 1979. He still retains many of his customers today.

 

Bud loved to hunt, fish, play golf and camp, but his real passion was for his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He loved to ride and especially enjoyed taking long, scenic trips with his many friends.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Wilfred Amy, Sr.

 

Bud leaves his wife of 62 years, Genelle “Nell” Boullion Amy and three children, Jimmy (Carla) Amy, MaLisa (Nelson) Hampton and Mitch (Debbie) Amy. Those who will especially miss him are his seven grandchildren: Brady and Tucker Amy; Madison, Macie and Morgan Hampton; and Mitchell (fiancé Jenni Kirkendal) and Zachary Amy.

 

The family will receive friends at Johnson Funeral Home on Sunday, October 28, 2018 from 5-8PM. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Monday, October 29, 2018 from 9-11AM with the funeral service at 11AM officiated by Msgr. Jace Eskind. Burial will follow at Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
