Henry "Bo" C. Davis, 84, of Westlake passed away at 2:35 PM on Wednesday, October 7, 2026 in a local care facility.
Born on November 19, 1941, in Springhill, Louisiana, he spent most of his life in Lake Charles, where he was raised and graduated from Marion High School. Following graduation, he proudly served in the United States Army. More than five years ago, after the hurricane, he made his home in Westlake, Louisiana.
Mr. Davis began his working career in 1964 as an offshore foreman. He later worked for the Boeing Company for three years, helping make parts for airplanes. In 1997, he began working with the marine crew at the Isle of Capri, where he remained until his retirement.
A man of Baptist faith, he loved his family dearly and was always involved in his children's sporting activities when they were growing up. He adored is grandchildren and treasured each moment spent with them.
He was also known for his exceptional cooking and baking. His gumbo, chocolate cake, pineapple upside-down cake, cornbread dressing, and sweet tea were favorites among family and friends.
Mr. Davis had a special talent for woodworking and enjoyed building and staining furniture for family and friends.
One of his favorite pastimes was dancing with his wife, which was how the two of them first met. Their love of dancing was a special part of their story and a cherished memory of their life together.
He was a likable man with a wonderful sense of humor who loved to make people laugh. Kindhearted and easy to be around, he had a way of making others feel welcome and bringing smiles to those around him.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife of 60 years, Gayle Racca Davis of Westlake; children, Craig Davis (Jennifer) of Mission, KS, Carey Davis of Houston, and Cammie Davis-Wicks (Ben) of New Orleans; grandchildren, Dylan Davis (Emily), Ashley Davis Morse (Spencer), Alec DeHerrera (Lily), and Keira Wicks; nine great grandchildren and one on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews whom he was close to.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Devilla Davis and his siblings, Margaret Chaisson, G.M. Davis, and Paula Seiley.
A funeral service will be held at 2:0 PM on Wednesday, October 14, 2026 in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel of Lake Charles. Rev. Steve Shirley will officiate. Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and continue until the start of the service.
