Henry Lee Domengeaux

January 1, 1934 — February 13, 2017

Henry Lee Domengeaux entered into eternal rest Monday, February 13, 2017 in a local hospital.

He was born in Port Arthur, TX to W.J. “Bud” and Eva Dupre’ Domengeaux. Henry entered the Army in 1953, where is served 16 months in Korea. He was honorably discharged in 1955. He worked for Great Lakes Carbon and retired 18 years before coming to Sulphur to help open Lake Charles Calcining Plant. Henry loved his fellow workers who became some of his best friends. His hobbies were spending time on Sam Rayburn Lake, fishing and enjoying camping with family and friends. The most important thing to him was spending time teaching his girls and grandchildren how to fish, ski, and just hanging out with them and their friends. He loved singing and playing the guitar for his children and grandchildren. Henry was an original member of Jivin Gene and the Jokers where he played the bass guitar.  

Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Eva Domengeaux; his sister, Janet Sons; grandson, David Lee Foreman; and nephews, Scott and Greg Randall. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Randall Domengeaux; his three daughters, Cynthia Zemetis and husband Kevin, Donna Johnson and husband Kevin, and Darla Montgomery and husband Darell; 6 grandchildren, Brandi Domengeaux, Lori Roddy and husband Craig, Amber Patrick, Melissa Card, Jamie Buller and husband Justin “Red”, and Derek Montgomery and wife Molly; 14 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 17, 2017 at 4 P.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 17, from 2:30 P.M. with a rosary recited by Father Edward Richard, M.S. at 3 P.M. Following the rosary visitation will continue until time of the service.
