Henry Martin Jackson

Henry Martin Jackson, 43, of Lake Charles, LA, died at 8:00 AM on Sunday, October 16, 2016.

 

Henry was born September 5, 1973 in Pineville, LA and has lived in Moss Bluff for most of his life. He was a 1992 graduate of Sam Houston High School and McNeese State University with both an Associate’s degree and Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, an Associate’s degree in Paralegal and was only six credits short of his Master’s. He worked for fifteen years at the Library in Moss Bluff, for ResCare, VOA, and at the Juvenile Detention Center as the head teacher. Most recently, he was employed as a special education teacher at Barbe High School. Henry was a member of Immaculate Conception Cathedral and St. Henry Catholic Church, and enjoyed visiting various catholic churches. He served the church as an Extraordinary Minister and as a Lector. Henry loved life and had a thirst for knowledge. He had been skydiving four times and was looking forward to his fifth time. He also enjoyed scary movies. He will always be remembered for his smile that would brighten a room and sense of fashion.

 

Henry is survived by his parents, Henry and Elsie Pitre Jackson of Moss Bluff; brother, Erik Jackson and wife Elojean, stationed in Hawaii; grandmother, Mildred Ozane Fontenot; nephews, Bryce M. Jackson and Jamin J. Jackson; God-child, Jeremy Kelley; along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Wild Bill Pitre, Mable Poullard Jackson, Martin Jackson, and Morris “Gabe” Fontenot; and aunt, Eva Pitre.

 

His funeral service will be held at 9:00 AM on Monday, October 24, 2016 at St. Henry Catholic Church. Father Jeffrey Starkovich will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Sunday from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary at 6:00 PM and continue on Monday from 8:00 AM to 8:30 AM.
